“And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us” (1 John 5:14).
It is good to pray. But the joy of prayer is to receive answers to our petitions. That is why we must learn about the prayer that works.
The prayer that is guaranteed to work is the one you prayed in accordance to the will of God. No matter your passion and intensity in prayer, or the duration of your prayers, you cannot make God do what is contrary to His will or purpose. To get answers from God, your prayers must fit into His will.
The will of God on any given subject can always be found in the Scriptures. God gave us His words to communicate His will to us. The Bible remains our unfailing guide to prayers that God accepts. It is therefore very necessary that those who desire answers to their prayers should first consult the word of God to know what the will of the Lord is.
The first thing to settle on any prayer adventure is to find out what the Bible says about what you are praying for. Truly, God has promised to grant the desire of your heart (Psalms 37:4). But when your desire is contrary to the provisions of His word, prayer could amount to a fruitless exercise.
Obtaining answer to prayers can be labelled as the result of man reaching an agreement with God. But when you are not in agreement with His word, you make it difficult for God to agree with you and accede to your request.
The prayer that works is the one that agrees with the word of God. If you want answers to your prayers, take out time to search the scriptures and inquire about the mind of God. Then pray accordingly and you will have the results you desire.
