“And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net” (Luke 5:5).
One of the most powerful gifts God has given us is the Scriptures. God’s word is a treasure ordained to give us pleasure, peace and prosperity. It is our guide into victory and fulfilment in life. Ultimately, it is the divine compass to help us navigate the ship of life to eternal destination of bliss.
A life ruled by the word of God will make fewer mistakes and know fewer disappointments. And if peradventure mistakes or disappointments occur, you will have a quicker recovery rate if you are addicted to living by divine instructions. This is very clear from the experience of Peter, the fisherman.
Peter and his colleagues had tried everything possible from human perspective to make a success of their fishing business. Having failed woefully, they got tired of trying and gave up. Then Jesus showed up to give Peter an instruction. When Peter acted on the words of Jesus, the result was an outstanding miracle.
The lesson is that no matter how tired and exhausted you are, never get tired of believing God and trying out His word. Keep living by the word of God and keep putting it into practice. If you don’t get the desired results today, you will get it tomorrow, and it will still be on time.
Always remember that God’s word never returns to Him void. The Word is designed to accomplish what God pleases, and prosper wherever it is sent (Isaiah 55:11). As you commit to living by God’s word in everything, may the word continually deliver its abundant treasures of miracles to you in Jesus name.
