“And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob (Romans 11:26).
God’s voice can be accessed either objectively or subjectively. The written word is the objective voice of God. But hearing God through any form of personal revelation is subjective because it could be influenced by current feelings, mood or circumstances.
God’s word as contained in the Bible is considered objective because it is not subject to change, individual feelings or dispositions. For instance, the scripture says when you pray, forgive whoever has offended you, so that your Father in heaven may forgive your trespasses (Mark 11:25). That is not man’s opinion but a clear instruction from God. You cannot claim to be led contrary to that scriptural rule.
It will also be a waste of time to be asking God in prayer whether you should forgive those who offended you or not. You will hear nothing from God on the matter because He has already spoken loud and clear in His word. If you are committed to doing God’s will and fulfilling His pleasure, please take heed to that eternal voice that tells you to forgive those who offend you, irrespective of the nature and magnitude of the offence.
In many of his epistles, Paul often used the Old Testament scriptures to establish what God is saying in the now. Through that process, he was able to establish that it is God’s will that Israel shall be saved. Friends, till heaven and earth shall pass away, the scripture shall continue to speak the mind of God to His people.
