HEARING GOD FOR YOURSELF (IX)

“And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions” (Joel 2:28).

A very common way by which people hear from God and access information from the spirit realm is through dreams and visions. Dreams and visions are valid means by which God communicates with people.

Our discussions will concentrate on dreams because they are more common. Everybody dreams and many people interact with the spirit world through dreams. Basically, a dream is a series of thoughts, images and sensations that form in your subconscious while you sleep. Sometimes, dreams could be so real that you think the event is happening literally.

The Bible records several instances where God spoke to people in dreams. God also confirmed that He communicates with His servants through dreams (Numbers 12:6). As today’s Bible verse shows, dreams are valid means through which we can know the mind of God because God said He will pour out His Spirit and men shall dream dreams (Acts 2:17).

Every dream referenced in the Bible as a message from God proved to be true and a reliable guide into God’s will. There is not a single case where a dream purported to be from God led people astray. Many Bible saints took fundamental destiny decisions on the basis of their dreams and were proven right.

May God pour His Spirit upon us afresh and birth in us dreams that will communicate His will and lead us into victories and bring prosperity.
