AS HE IS, SO ARE WE IN THIS WORLD

“Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world” (1 John  4:17).

Believers are called to share in God’s nature. Redemption gives us the privilege and right to become partakers of the divine nature (2 Peter 1:4). Thus, today’s scripture boldly declares that as the glorified Jesus is at the right hand of the Father in heaven, so are we in this world.

It should be easy to understand and accept this scriptural truth when you remember that God created man in His own image and likeness (Genesis 1:26). That gives us a foundational basis to identify with the nature of God. Redemption reinforces that basis because salvation positions us to become conformed to Christ’s image in all ramifications (Romans 8:29).

Beloved, it is your covenant right to insist that as Christ is, so are you in this world. The expression, “in this world”, means that I do not have to get to heaven before partaking of the nature of God. As Christ is without sin, sickness and disease, so am I in this world. As Christ is without lack and want, so am I in this world.

Beloved, whatever cannot be found in Christ as He is at the right hand of the Father should not be found in you, even while you are yet in this world. I therefore decree that anything of such be expelled from your life immediately in Jesus name. As Christ is without blemish of any sort, so shall you be for the rest of your life.
