SURRENDER MORE (II)

“And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net” (Luke 5:5).

God always knows far better than we do. That is why surrendering to Him, His opinion and verdict in all things will always be the smartest choice.

It has been said that God uses us for His glory to the extent that we surrender to Him. Similarly, the extent of your surrender to God will determine how much of His blessings you will attract. The Bible says it is God who teaches us to profit (Isaiah 48:17). You can be taught of the Lord only if you submit to Him and the process by which He teaches. All of that require humility and surrender.

Consider Peter who had toiled all night, applying all the fishing techniques he knew but caught nothing. Then Jesus came and casually told him to let down his net for a catch in broad daylight. Although, that did not make any logical fishing sense, Peter submitted to the Lord’s counsel and secured an incredibly massive haul of great fishes. Because he surrendered, God used Peter to perform a miracle and also gave him a bountiful blessing all at once.

At another time, Peter demonstrated the importance of surrendering to the Lord’s counsel when he needed to pay taxes but had no money. Jesus told him to do something that had no basis in fishing. But Peter yielded all the same and received the blessing he needed (Matthew 17:27).

Friends, surrender to the Lord and be blessed. Surrender more and be blessed even more.
