DON’T LET THE ENEMY DISTRACT YOU

“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before” (Philippians 3:13).

Normally, every man makes plans that will take him forward in life. But just as you have good plans for yourself, the devil also has his own plans to frustrate, distract and disorganise you. How you handle whatever the enemy throws at you will be critical in determining what you will accomplish in life.

One of the things you must never do is to give the devil too much attention. You should never let anything the enemy does get you down, otherwise you will be distracted. Even if you made a mistake that gave room for the enemy to operate, just acknowledge your errors, repent before God and learn the necessary lessons. Then forget the experience and move on with your plans, trusting the Lord to see you through.

The above is the attitude employed by apostle Paul. It helped him to achieve so much without distractions, despite the powerful oppositions that he faced from several fronts. Paul asked the rest of us to imitate him and imbibe this attitude. This, according to him must be the attitude of the mature (Philippians 3:15).

Finally, if you will not be frustrated, distracted and disorganized by the enemy, you must constantly make Jesus your focus. In a sense, that was what Paul meant when he said all he wanted was to know Jesus and conform to Him (Philippians 3:10). As we keep looking to the Lord Jesus, may we find strength to overcome every distraction.
