GET UNDERSTANDING BY ALL MEANS 

“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding” (Proverbs 4:7).

Understanding is critical for the believer. What you understand is what will make you stand. Lack of understanding will keep you under the influence of the enemy and disrupt your standing in the faith. In fact, lack of understanding can hinder you from entering into the fullness of God’s plan for your life.

The difference between Joshua and Caleb on one side and the other ten spies and the rest of Israel was their respective levels of understanding (Numbers 14:6-9). They all saw the same thing but understood differently. All Israel had seen what God could do through what He displayed in Egypt. But while Joshua and Caleb understood those acts, signs and wonders as products of God’s nature, the rest of the people obviously thought that they were mere incidents of chance.

It was their poor understanding of the nature, ways and acts of God that made them query whether the God who brought out water from the rock could also furnish a table in the wilderness and provide meat for His people (Psalms 78:19-20). Devoid of understanding, they became perpetual murmurers against God and forfeited their access into their inheritance. Eventually, they were destroyed of the destroyer (1 Corinthians 10:10).

Beloved, the Lord wants you to give attention to whatever will help you gain understanding. He wants you to get understanding by every possible means because your future, indeed your life depends on it. As you seek understanding, may the almighty God grant you quick understanding in all things in Jesus name.
