“By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went” (Hebrews 11:8).
Faith is a spiritual equipment designed to help our walk with God and our pursuit of His kingdom. It was never meant to be a tool to service individual interests and personal gratification.
Faith has a direct relationship with your state of surrender to God. The more you believe God and put faith in Him, the more you can surrender to Him. It will always be difficult to submit or surrender to what you do not believe because faith drives passion, commitment, determination and dedication.
True faith drives wholehearted submission to God. It drove the disciples of Jesus to fully surrender and align with His will, despite. Despite the persecution, tribulation and affliction, they remained surrendered to the Lord (Acts 5:40-41). It was faith that made the saints of old submit to the sovereign will of God. From Noah to Abraham, Moses to David and the prophets, their faith in God inspired them to submit to Him.
By faith, Noah bowed to the seemingly foolish idea of building the ark when there was no possibility of any rain falling upon the earth. By faith, Abraham surrendered to the instruction to sacrifice his only son because he believed that God would raise him back to life. By faith, Moses turned his back on Pharaoh and the good life in Egypt because he believed in the plan of the invisible God.
Friends, I encourage you to believe God more and you will find the strength to surrender more.
