THANK YOU JESUS!
Oluwamuyiwa Okuseinde
“This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief” (1 Timothy 1:15).
In today’s text, Paul expressed his gratitude for what Christ did for him as a person. When it comes to being thankful for the coming of Christ, we must move from the general level of seeing Christ as the Saviour of the world to the personal level of what He has done for us as individuals.
Paul was thankful that Christ came to save sinners of whom he was chief. He saw salvation as a privilege and was thankful to Jesus for the honour of being saved and also for calling him into the ministry. In times like this, we all should be especially thankful to Christ for the honour of counting us as people worth dying for.
We can show our gratitude to Christ through dedicated service to him. Paul served tirelessly as a show of gratitude for his salvation. The woman of Samaria served by going around town, telling people about the one who turned her life around. Telling others about Jesus remains an important way to show your appreciation.
You can also minister to the Lord with your resources to appreciate what He has done for you. Mary and her friends did that. The wise men from the East gave gifts to appreciate Jesus for coming to our world, and in anticipation of the redemptive work He would do (Matthew 2:11).
Today, you must also be wise enough to show gratitude to Jesus for saving you. While it is good to share gifts to others at Christmas time, also consider giving a special offering to the work of God to appreciate the Lord. Above all, let it be on record that in this Christmas season, an abundance of “Thank You Jesus” flowed from your heart and your lips to the Lord. Thank you Jesus!
