“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth” (Genesis 1:1).
All praise and thanks to God who has brought us triumphantly into the new year. Everyone unto whom God has given this privilege is automatically licensed for a new beginning. Whether you are rich or poor, educated or not, old or young, successful or yet to be successful, God is saying, “You can begin again”.
The beginning of a new year is an opportunity for renewed hope in life. No matter what you have passed through, you can have a new beginning where the old will pass away and the negative experiences you have been through can be deleted from the chemistry of your life. With a fresh start, you can have a better tomorrow.
However, to make this opportunity for a new beginning fruitful, fulfilling and enduring, you must involve God. Starting with God in the new year means He must be first in everything. It also means that God must be at the heart of all that you do. He must be in the centre of your thoughts, planning, process and execution.
Observe that in the beginning of heaven and earth, God was there. He was the absolute creative force behind the creation of heaven and earth. They have endured till now because God was their foundation. For this same reason, the power of darkness cannot overthrow heaven and earth.
You too can have a victorious year if you will allow God to have the prime of place. Begin by committing yourself and the year into His able hands. Seek His face every time for everything. May His power grace and mercy journey with you all through the year in Jesus name.
