Today’s Message – 2022-01-13

“For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones” (Isaiah 57:15).

God chooses His company. Although He loves everybody, He is not in love with everybody. Today’s Bible verse says, God is in love with whoever is of “a contrite and humble spirit”, so much so that He dwells with him.

The factor of pride vis-a-vis humility impacts greatly on the world of the supernatural. God resists the proud, but gives grace for the supernatural to the humble (James 4:6). Even if the proud manages to experience the supernatural every now and then, it will be fitful. The supernatural does not dwell with the proud because God, the author of the supernatural is opposed to him.

When Jesus was here as man, He bestrode the world as the king of the supernatural. An interesting scene where He moved with supernatural speed cannot be easily forgotten. After a miracle filled crusade, Jesus dispatched His disciples to go ahead to the next city by ship, while He went up to the mountain to pray. By the time Jesus was done praying, the boat had travelled about four miles already.

The next thing the disciples saw was Jesus walking on the water to meet them. He moved with such supernatural velocity that He caught up with the ship (John 6:19). It was much like when Elijah ran on foot and overtook Ahab’s chariot.

One important secret of Jesus was His humility (Philippians 2:5-9). To experience supernatural speed, you must be humble enough to make yourself of no reputation before God, just like Jesus did. Enduring supernatural result is the heritage of the humble. Receive grace to humble yourself under the mighty hand of God, in Jesus name.
