THE VALUE OF THE PRESENCE OF THE LORD

“And the LORD was with him; and he prospered whithersoever he went forth: and he rebelled against the king of Assyria, and served him not” (2 Kings 18:7).

God’s presence is an extremely valuable asset in the journey of life. When the Bible remarks concerning a certain individual that the Lord was with him, it means that the Almighty God entered into an open partnership to journey with that person and help him through the affairs of his life.

The presence of the Lord activates a divine companionship that makes life easy and helps mere mortals accomplish supernatural feats. When the presence of God is with you, divine provisions, consistent victory in battles, and help from above, among other things, will become your constant experiences. But without that divine companionship, life can become quite miserable and frustrating.

Hezekiah’s life was marked by the presence of the Lord, and it made a huge difference for him and his regime. In the same breath, it was written that the Lord was with Joseph and he prospered, even right there in the prison (Genesis 39:21-23). Finally, we learn from David that when a man makes the Lord his shepherd, he is rewarded with the presence of the Lord (Psalms 23:4). If you also make the Lord your shepherd, He will guide you and stand with you in all things.

Friends, the greatest gift you can have is the presence of God. That gift will always make significant differences for you. No wonder David prayed earnestly that God should not separate him from the divine presence (Psalms 51:11). May the presence of the Lord be ever yours in Jesus name.
