KEEP THE COMMANDS OF GOD

“And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them” (Matthew 21:6).

The most important thing you can do as a Christian is to keep the commands of God without hesitation, always. Your obedience determines your relevance and placement in God’s plan. But when you live in disobedience, you make God’s plan of no effect.

Today’s Bible verses states that the disciples of Jesus did what He commanded them to do. The first key lesson here is that keeping the Lord’s commands is the proof of true followership (2 Kings 18:6). There is no point in following a person that you cannot obey because such a lifestyle bothers on hypocrisy.

Secondly, keeping the Lord’s commands is the proof of your love for Him. Jesus said those who love Him would obey His commandments (John 14:15). As far as Jesus was concerned, the depth of a man’s love for God is measured, not by mere word of mouth, but by the extent of his obedience to God’s commands.

Thirdly, obedience births success (Joshua 1:8). Obedience is the mother of results. When the disciples obeyed the words of Jesus, they were able to succeed with the assignment He gave them. Should you desire tangible result in any area of life, seek out the commands of God concerning that area and commit fulfilling those commands.

All the above were clearly illustrated in the life of Hezekiah. Keeping the word of God is a proof your faith in Him and in the integrity of His words. May the Lord grant us the courage and strength to obey His commands at all times in Jesus name.
