JESUS: A FRIEND LIKE NO OTHER

“Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you” (John 15:15).

The Bible reveals that God has a solution for all the issues that may confront us and our world in general. That solution is hidden in Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God who came into this world to befriend us in order to help us.

In today’s scripture verse, Jesus presents Himself to us as friend. He is the friend that sticks closer than a biological brother (Proverbs 18:24). Jesus is a friend who loves and cares like no other. In Him, God came down to the level of man so that He might be better able to help us. Jesus Christ is Saviour, Redeemer and friend. What a friend indeed, we have in Jesus.

The most important thing that Jesus did for us to cement His relationship with us is to give us a platform to come up to His own level. First, He gave as many as would believe in Him and accept His friendship the power to become sons of God just like Him (John 1:12). Jesus is also the King of kings and He has made all who believe in Him and have been washed in His atoning blood to be kings also, that they might reign on the earth, even as He reigns (Revelation 1:5-6).

Beloved, Jesus really wants to be your friend. As you open your heart to Him, may you always experience His faithfulness in all things.
