“I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name” (Revelation 3:8).
A door is a means of approach or access. It is a portal by which one may gain entrance into either a building, an organization, a city, a system, an endeavour, or even into a person’s heart or life.
In today’s Bible verse, Jesus declared emphatically that He has set before you an open door. Please understand that this is more than merely opening a door for you. When Jesus said He had set before you an open door, the sense is that He has given to you a permanent access everywhere and every time you need one. For indeed, no one and nothing can undo what Jesus had done for you.
For someone reading this, the open door that Jesus has set before you is a way of escape from whatever previously held you down, caged or limited you, or the things that have prevented you from fulfilling destiny. To such, Jesus is saying that you are no longer trapped and can no longer be snared because the snare is broken to give you a permanent way of escape (Psalms 124:7).
Beloved, please settle it in your mind that doors to all of God’s goodness have been opened unto you. Know also that Jesus, the one who set this open door before you is also standing by your side to superintend over the access granted you. May you receive His help to enter into the fullness of the joy of your Lord.
